Background
Leading through example and practising its own philosophy, SFHS quickly grew from kindergarten to one of the leading K-12 schools in Chandigarh. Dissatisfied with its informative but routine website, it approached ICD to help express its distinctive character.
Discovery
The School was founded by non-specialists who were driven by a desire to change education for the better. They started with their own experiments and built upon their beliefs, not what the ‘system’ dictated. Today, it leads with a strong belief-led philosophy which is brought alive through carefully, crafted interactions. It shapes how individuals learn, think, and act and raises them with a strong sense of identity, independence and consciousness.
Brand
Strawberry Fields High School is a new voice in education, distinct from the traditional, conventional style practised around the country. Not a conventional school, we branded it as an “original” with an agenda to offer education that is whole, authentic, and purpose-driven. Challenging education’s accepted beliefs—its means, methods, participants, and outcomes, it sets itself as an example and inspires others to follow its lead.
Personality
A bold, non-conformist character with a creative flair. A celebration of standing out. It revels in its own individuality amongst other Schools, and nurtures individuality amongst its people.
Communication
The site’s navigation is tied to its philosophy, expressed through its people, environment and approach which make the main menu heads. The messaging moves away from ‘have’ (facility, infrastructure, physical assets) to ‘why and how’, highlighting the need and outcome of such an education. The School’s narrative finds voice in individual stories of teachers and students, featured prominently on the site. And, quick takeaways highlight quality metrics that mark the School’s distinctiveness.
Design
An energetic colour palette, drawn from the Strawberry identity, captures the School’s vibrant spirit. Set against an animate visual style dominated with large windows of videos and pictures, symbolising an education that is experienced, not learnt. Using a central graphic element of shifted ‘folded paper’ framing these moments, representing the School’s aim to break away from mindless discipline and drudgery brought by doggedly following the ‘system’, to build a liberated space alive to interaction and play.
