Krea makes consciously designed high-end home furniture that’s thoughtfully designed and ethically made. Krea founders have years of experience in designing interior spaces and furniture for luxury 5-star hotels.

Their approach to home spaces is design led, informed by the client’s and their own sensibilities, which results in well made pieces that stay talked about for long.

ICD collaborated with Krea founders to design a brand-led e-commerce website that reflected their thoughtful approach to making and selling high-end, well crafted furniture.

Strategy

Krea’s pieces are thoughtfully designed and finely made with high quality, rigorously tested materials. High levels of craftsmanship go into the making of each line—resulting in uniques, statement pieces of furniture.

Also, Krea, unlike most other furniture sellers, follows global and Indian design sensibilities in their craft. They also adhere to ethical sourcing and making practices.

If the design could reflect both facets of Krea, the combination of high levels of craft and genuine integrity, then that could be a powerful brand position which would serve it beyond the website. That is the route we decided to approach the design from.

Design

On the home page, the design sets the tone for the consumer, telling them that Krea is a high-end brand, who take deep care of their product design, manufacturing and detailing.

The whole website is given a sense of luxurious spaciousness.

The products are showcased in a sparse setting, where the rich detail and craftsmanship of the product is clearly visible.

Product lines are given their own colour identity and a background was developed to show the signature product of the various lines on the homepage

Composition guidelines were developed for product photography to help maintain uniformity as new products.

Custom pop-up cards allow users to learn about products from multi-product mood photographs itself and aids the consumer in getting a sense of what Krea’s products would look like in actual home settings.

Archia, a typeface with full forms and clean appearance was chosen for its clarity and elegance. It complements and enhances the understated luxurious ambience of the Krea website.

The founders collaborated with ICD to design a brand-led e-commerce website which would approach selling thoughtfully, just like their thoughtfully made products.
