Background
In late 2018, three prominent healthcare personalities got together to bring cell science cancer therapy to India (biotech entrepreneur Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, author-researcher Siddhartha Mukherjee and doctor-investor Kush M. Parmar) We were asked to design its website to raise awareness, attract collaboration with partners, investors, and enlist employees.
Strategy
Cell science therapies to treat cancer have a few years start in the West, and are completely novel to India. We realised Immuneel’s disruptive plan to create this affordable, and accessible model of delivery in India acknowledges its massively underserved population despite some quality medical professionals, researchers and hospitals.
Our approach spells “possibility and opportunity” for patients, doctors, hospital partners, and investors.
Design
Design takes on this opportunity with a single minded focus, creating an overwhelming blue canvas. At a symbolic level blue represents opportunity, and an untouched, unknown space (the blue ocean or sky). It also links with indigo, the ‘neel’ in Immuneel, an Indian blue dye that was once the envy of the western world, referencing the India story. The messaging style and headlines also animates its mission-led agenda: putting India on the map of cancer therapy.

an overwhelmingly blue canvas and cell-shaped graphic style
At a symbolic level blue represents opportunity, and also links with indigo, Indian name ‘neel’ (in Immuneel). The cell shaped graphics makes a mysterious and science-y background for a company obsessed with mysteries of the cell—the root of health, life and disease.
